Background: Design S recognized Swedish design in various disciplines such as fashion, textiles, and digital design. Svensk Form has replaced Design S by reintroducing Excellent Swedish Design — an annual celebration of tradition, quality, and the enduring strength of Swedish design.

Jury nomination motivation: “By planning the entire lifetime of a garment from the very beginning of the design stage, we can reduce the consumer’s need to buy new. The design thus adds to more sustainable fashion, allowing the garment to be mended several times over. The use of a single material also enables the fabric to find new areas of use, when the garment has done its job.”
